Today we are very happy; we have finally chosen the stories for the two radio theaters that we are developing with the blind students.
The morning group had already chosen the tale among those traditional ones that they knew, and they are writing the script into braille. Today, the afternoon group had decided to go ahead with a story that Mr. Panha had created inspired in a traditional Khmer legend, and they had begun to pass it to braille as well.
We have never seen before the manual system of transcription to braille and we were astonished with our students’ skills to write backwards and superfast. The sound of the pin reminds us of a sewing workshop or an old telegraph office, setting the first rhythm of our stories.
