WHY IS WATER IMPORTANT?

Together with our main partners, i-Qlick Canon and UNESCO, and the Royal University of Fine Arts, we launched a competition from May 16th to June 8th, encouraging people to share their insights on the significance of water with us. We opened the contest offering two fields to participate, essays and photographs, setting a range of categories according to the age of the participants; we also created a specific award for the most inspiring artworks.
People could join the competition through i-Qlick Canon’s Facebook, where they could submit their works.
Once the call was promoted, many people wanted to take part in it and, by the deadline, we had a variety of contestants trying to explain why water is important for them and willing to get one of the prices that i-Qlick Canon was so kind to award the best works with.
The pictures and essays showed the interest of people in such a substantial topic and, after a tough debate, the jury panel could finally choose the winners that we share here for you:

The awards ceremony was held inside the CCPC (Cambodia Canon Photography Club) members gathering, where we could meet some of the contestants and they could take the great prices home.
